Summer Season 2024/25
Hamersley holds a weekly Little Athletics competition from October to February/March for athletes in the U7 to U17 age groups. Running, jumping and throwing events are rotated across two Saturday mornings. Centre championships are conducted over the final two weeks. In addition, Athletics West offer several championship competitions to qualified athletes.
There is a reduced program with no hurdles or high jump for the first two weeks of the season.

National Volunteer Week commences this week!
Held from 20-26 May 2024, National Volunteer Week is Australia's largest annual celebration of volunteering with thousands of events and activities taking place across the country.
The theme for 2024 is Something for Everyone, recognising the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to volunteering. It is an invitation to explore the wide range of opportunities available, emphasising that there is a place for everyone in the world of volunteering.
Western Australia has one of the strongest volunteering cultures in Australia. National Volunteer Week provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the contributions of the 1.5 million West Australians over the age of 15 who give their time for the good of the community.

"I was down at the SSWA XC Champs today at McGilvray Oval. I was blown away by the performances from our Hamersley Athletes representing themselves and respective schools. To qualify for a spot on the State Team you’ve got to be consistent over the course with sub 4min/km. And wow, did your kids deliver. Guts, determination, focus. Well done all, what an opportunity to compete and what a Team. See you all on Sunday, 4.30pm at Carine Open Space."
Hamersley are hosting the next cross country competition at Lake Gwelup on 25th May so a reminder to sign up by Wednesday, or get down there and cheer on our amazing athletes on the day.
