Hamersley Uniform

The Hamersley Athletics Centre uniform promotes team spirit, ensures fairness, and supports compliance with Athletics West regulations. It also helps encourage sun safety and a consistent appearance among athletes.

All athletes representing Hamersley are required to adhere to the following uniform standards during all competition days, evening meets, and any local, regional, or state events. Whether it’s Summer track & field or Winter cross‑country, the official Hamersley maroon & gold uniform with bib number attached is required.

The Hamersley uniform consists of a gold and maroon singlet, T-shirt or crop-top (U13+) and maroon or black shorts. Uniforms can be purchased throughout the season via our online store (Hamersley Athletic Square Site).

Uniforms are not required when training.

Uniform Requirements

Tops

Athletes must wear the official Hamersley singlet or t-shirt. The approved crop top can only be worn at Athletics West run, State or National events for U13+).
The official Athlete Registration Number (provided prior to the season) must be securely fastened to the front centre of the top using safety pins (recommended: four).
For athletes in U7–U12 age groups, tops must fully cover the midriff.
A plain undershirt may be worn beneath the uniform top, provided it is black or matches the dominant club colour.

Bottoms

Maroon or black shorts with no contrasting stitching, piping, inserts, logos, or stripes.
Black compression shorts or leggings (leggings are not permitted in race walking events).
Athletes may wear a second pair of shorts (e.g., compression shorts) underneath, provided they are an approved colour.

Shoes

Fully enclosed footwear is mandatory at all times.
U7–U12: Waffles or trainers are permitted.
U13 and above: Spikes may be worn only in permitted events and must comply with Athletics West spike regulations.
Spikes must be carried to the start line and removed immediately after the event.
Football boots and cleats are strictly prohibited.

Hats

Hats are encouraged for sun protection when not competing.
Hats must be removed prior to the start of all track events and during field attempts.

Non-Compliance

Athletes who are not compliant with the uniform standards may be excluded from competition or disqualified.

Athletics West Events

For all Athletics West State events, athletes must wear the official Hamersley Athletics Centre uniform.
Uniform compliance is strictly enforced at these events. Athletes who are not fully compliant may be denied entry or disqualified.
